What is In-Home Care?

service_infographic2We define the services provided by caregivers that allow seniors and those in need to continue living at home in comfort as - in-home care. We believe so strongly in this concept that we made it part of our name – American In-Home Care.

There are many care options available to seniors including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult day care, and retirement communities. Each option offers certain benefits, but for many the preferred aging alternative is care in the familiar environment of one’s own home. Often, based on the needs of the person needing care, non-medical in-home care is more willingly accepted, and is the best fit for budgets.

The in-home care option encompasses companion care services, personal care services, and live-in services. These services support the Activities of Daily Living  or (ADLs) like dressing, bathing, meals, toileting, and mobility that are central to staying at home.

In-home care supports the client’s goal of living independently, at home, but not alone. If this is your goal, American In-Home Care can help. We present credentialed, verified, screened, and insured caregivers for your acceptance and approval.

The benefits of In-Home Care

When a senior or elderly family member becomes ill, or is no longer able to manage the responsibilities of daily living, life changes for everyone involved. As a result, more families every day are choosing in-home care services that support their goal of having their loved one's remain at home for many important reasons.

In-Home care respects the loved one's dignity and independence.  Research indicates that seniors fear moving into a nursing home and losing their independence more than dying.

In-Home care is safe, and one-to-one attention means that care is swift, responsive, and efficient.  In-Home Care is personalized to the unique requirements and lifestyles of each situation. One-to-one care is best suited for maintaining the health of elders and often reduces the opportunities for infection found in some care environments. In-Home care promotes recovery through the positive feelings associated with being in your own home.

In-Home care can postpone the need for institutionalization and improve and extend the quality of life. By encouraging independence through self-directed care, personal caregivers can help prevent premature decline and enrich a loved one's later years.

In-Home care saves money and is often more affordable than other forms of care.  Generally when dealing with comparable health issues, at home care is less expense than hospitalization, nursing home placement or other facility based approaches.
